“Fair Trek” is a Luang Prabang based initiative between villages, the government, local tour operators and NGO’s. It supports local employment, environmental protection, and aims to maximize the positive impacts of tourism on participating communities. A Fair Trek Village Fund has been set up to help with local reforestation efforts and allow families that are not participating in tourism activities to benefit from visitation of their communities.
