New Tourist Information Centre in Vientiane
The Lao National Tourism Administration (LNTA) recently opened its new Tourist Information Centre in Vientiane. The Centre is open everyday from 8:30 – 16:00 and contains an exhibition on tourist attractions and activities available in the Lao PDR and neighboring countries. Visit the Centre for maps, transportation schedules, local advice on where to dine and where to stay as well as other essential information. This facility is located on the first floor of the LNTA headquarters on Lane Xang Avenue. |

Vat Phou Festival in Champasak
This year the Vat Phou Festival in Champasak District is celebrated from 12 – 14 February at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Vat Phou. This huge festival includes traditional performances, an elephant procession and Buddhist merit-making ceremonies. While in Champasak Town, visit the new Tourist Information Centre to see the exhibition on Vat Phou and to obtain information on community-based tours available in the area.

Heading North to Trek?
Stop in Luang Namtha Province 's Vieng Phoukha district for some of the best trekking in the country. The Vieng Phoukha Ecoguide Service offers multi-day treks to the Nam Ha National Protected Area , caves and little-known historic sites in this remote and beautiful district. Vieng Phoukha is located on the main road between the border crossing at Houei Xay and Luang Namtha Town. |
