Kao Rao Cave in Luang Namtha now open!

When in Luang Namtha visit the 3.2 kilometer Kao Rao Cave, located just 300 meters off route 3 that connects Houei Xay to Luang Namtha. The cave is about 47 kilometers south of Luang Namtha Town. This amazing dry fossil cave is lit by state-of-the art LED lamps to show off its beautiful formations. Kao Rao Cave is open daily from 8:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon.

To visit the cave, hire a tuk-tuk from Luang Namtha Town or Vieng Phoukha. If you are traveling on route 3 in your own vehicle, be sure to stop and visit this fantastic attraction.
