Depart Luang Prabang in mid-morning for a 30-minute drive to Ban Nong Heo, a Khamu village where the village guide joins the group to lead the trek.
Hike through community forests and farming fields for 1.5 hours to Ban Long Lao, a Hmong village, to rest and enjoy a family-style Lao lunch prepared by the villagers.
After learning about traditional Hmong textile production, trekkers climb through thick forests to the top of a mountain offering excellent views of the surrounding area.
Descend from the hills to a natural spring for a brief rest and afternoon swim. The trail then arrives at the famous Kwang Si Waterfall, Luang Prabang's most popular natural site. Return to Luang Prabang by car in the late afternoon.

Family style Lao meal. Typical meal includes chicken, soup, sticky rice, vegetables and chili.

Easy - Moderate: Moderate climbing involved. Trekkers must be in good physical shape. Total of about four hours of walking.
Good shoes for hiking, bathing suit and towel, sunscreen/hat, camera, money to purchase handicrafts. It is advised to wear long pants and a shirt with sleeves to protect against shrubs, insects and sun.
